Any of you found anything off-market for auto dimming mirrors? I saw something for rear view mirror, but is there something for both rearview and side mirrors?

    Cheers,
    Venkat

If anyone finds IVRM that is USB powered instead of cig lighter, do post here. My current setup is a 20k MH power bank set up below the passenger seat powered by the rear USB charger. The power bank has 4 USB outlets to power my dash cam , charge phones . 1 would be used for IVRM’s

@Ponzz – Is USB power safer than the cigarette lighter output, currently my dash cam works on cigarette lighter with constant recording. Recently, gone thru a video about failure at cigarette lighter point, due to over heating and catching fire.

@padamdeep – I did not go the cig lighter way for the below reasons

    1) Dash cam recording – once the car is parked, all power sources go off and dascam recording ends. With the power bank, it is continuously recording even when parked.

    2) Open wires crossing by is a big NO for me like many others here, I prefer everything concealed. Right now only 1 cm of my dash wiring is visible ( behind rearview mirror) as it is concealed through the roofline, front left A pillar, door rubbers to below the passenger seat where the powerbank is located.

Powerbank stops getting charge/power a few min after the car is put off, so no chances of overheating etc. Power output is limited to 12v.

Thanks @Ponzz – thats a great insight, i will as well shift to power bank mode of working, camera can keep recording 24 x 7 and many issues gets recorded. What is the power bank capacity installed.
