Keymaster@padamdeepWell I have personally checked Osram / Quaden / TVS / Night visions for 6000 kelvin and 4200 kelvin versions. My favourite is Osram 4200 kelvin 35W but as on today not available so 2nd in line is Quaden 4300 kelvin 35w premium model.

Keymaster@mohitI have been using 55w, 5000k HID’s from DHC for app 6 months.
Can figure out some loss of lumens with time….

kshitizrajsingh
Participant@kshitizrajsinghI also went for the same, though padamdeep told me about the loss of lumens but with the Osram’s unexpected delay thought of going on this, some shadows were visible initially but after adjusting the focus, now looks better but have you tested for lumens, the claim and actuals

Keymaster@padamdeepI did another round of testing yesterday and only to find the solution of placing HID in head lights is the cheapest and best option. One may need to live with some sort of ground shadow which can be completely removed with HID’s in fogs and partially by LED / Night breakers in Fogs.
Using Osrams since last 10 months and no issues at all, the light is perfect and would suggest using 35W instead of 55W power HID.
Have tried another Indian brand Quaden for some time, and fellow Jeepers are using from 2-3 months with no issues. Quaden premium as well uses the same power 35W as Osram and comes with Canbus adapter.
The BEST SOLUTION
Changing the complete projector assembly with Morimoto / alternative chinese projectors which can hold D2S will be solution to ground shadow.
Same will cost above 30k for Morimoto and Chinese may be between 15-18k.
Bangalore guys can contact The Drifts / The Automotive Lighting Experts for installation
Mumbai guys can contact The Autorounders for the solution (www.autorounders.com)
can be found on facebook / google / website.

Participant@saratkonDriftz ran out of 4300K and but have 6000K in Quaden. Is it worth waiting for the 4300K (~1 month) or should I go right away with 6000K?

Participant@virathi@Padam, It’s good that you had positive exp with Osram 4200K 35W. & I agree 6000K may be problematic during rainy.
But it’s really bad for me with Osram 6000K 35W, purchased through amzn. The left eye was having hot spot & even didn’t find the whole setup very much appealing to me so returned that set & back to stock lights. Finally, I have ordered Philips 9011 HIR Std Halgn bulb as of now which I heard satisfactory reviews.
Any clue if FCA is planning to provide any optional upgrade to HID in projector halgn setup specifically for the Long(O) and Latitude ?

padamdeep
Keymaster@padamdeephey, I am using the same with Osram and reason I always say, purchase from a local shop than Amazon is the pain one has to go thru if the unit doesnt work well. I my case as well, had to replace the same twice but now works fine. Even fellow jeeper in Bglr are using Quaden and they are happy with the results.
4300 kelvin and 6000 kelvin is individual/s choice.
Philips HIR are standard and will not increase lumens. Instead go for Philips Xtreme vision plus which will give 130% extra than stocks and should do good in JC.
I am using the same in my fogs and very happy with the extra lumens i got post change.
No idea about FCA/s plans as off now. Coz they gave HID in limited Option and limited plus models and which cannot be fixed to limited or Long (O) models. -

Participant@rahulb14Company/service Center says that if you replace bulbs from outside vendors, warranty becomes void, And also it may cause wiring/heating issues. Heard from a person from FCA that he has seen such issues also in past. Trying to understand if people are using these after market products, is there anything true in what FCA says?

padamdeep
Keymaster@padamdeepHi, The warranty (may) void only for the headlight unit, in case there is an issue with the heating etc. The standard products like Osram 35W etc generates lesser heat than the stock bulbs plus at lesser loads on wiring. from the last 2 years, i know at least 500+ jeepers who are using Osram / Morimoto products which are par standard and no of the jeeper has reported any trouble.

padamdeep
Keymaster@padamdeepHi, please ask your installer to direct the wire on HID bulb to face upwards. This will solve the issue. He may need to do some filing on plastic holders of the HID bulb to fit it that way.

diwakerchhabra
Participant@diwakerchhabraMy Petrol 1.4L AT has Halogen Lamps and I don’t want to make any changes which would void the warranty, so HID / LED kits are ruled out. I read that upgrading to Osram Night breaker can be a good option and both High Beam and Low Beam Bulbs can be replaced without any other changes.
Any one has done it before? Any first hand experience would be good to know.
Thx.

Participant@devghoshI have tried out but useless! Osram Night Breaker dosen’t work with Jeep lenses.
FYI – Highbeam & low beam is same single bulb only. HB3 bulbs

Participant@ajayy24Does anyone with 2022 Jeep Compass Limited option have changed the headlights to HID or LED? I am planning to change it to 35W, the native headlights are extremely poor and night driving is stressful .

Keymaster@padamdeepJeep Compass 2022 comes with LED’s as factory fitted. The HOD solution is not possible yet on the same unless put as Auxiliary. There are couple of options for auxiliary lighting, you need to check on those.
