Participant@virathi@Padam, It’s good that you had positive exp with Osram 4200K 35W. & I agree 6000K may be problematic during rainy.
But it’s really bad for me with Osram 6000K 35W, purchased through amzn. The left eye was having hot spot & even didn’t find the whole setup very much appealing to me so returned that set & back to stock lights. Finally, I have ordered Philips 9011 HIR Std Halgn bulb as of now which I heard satisfactory reviews.
Any clue if FCA is planning to provide any optional upgrade to HID in projector halgn setup specifically for the Long(O) and Latitude ?

Keymaster@padamdeephey, I am using the same with Osram and reason I always say, purchase from a local shop than Amazon is the pain one has to go thru if the unit doesnt work well. I my case as well, had to replace the same twice but now works fine. Even fellow jeeper in Bglr are using Quaden and they are happy with the results.
4300 kelvin and 6000 kelvin is individual/s choice.
Philips HIR are standard and will not increase lumens. Instead go for Philips Xtreme vision plus which will give 130% extra than stocks and should do good in JC.
I am using the same in my fogs and very happy with the extra lumens i got post change.
No idea about FCA/s plans as off now. Coz they gave HID in limited Option and limited plus models and which cannot be fixed to limited or Long (O) models.September 19, 2018 at 11:18 am #5400virathi
Participant@virathiYes, make more sense. Though I already placed the order. Let’s try with HIR as of now, will share the experience once done.

Participant@kshitizrajsinghI also went for the same, though padamdeep told me about the loss of lumens but with the Osram’s unexpected delay thought of going on this, some shadows were visible initially but after adjusting the focus, now looks better but have you tested for lumens, the claim and actuals

Participant@rahulb14Company/service Center says that if you replace bulbs from outside vendors, warranty becomes void, And also it may cause wiring/heating issues. Heard from a person from FCA that he has seen such issues also in past. Trying to understand if people are using these after market products, is there anything true in what FCA says?

Keymaster@padamdeepHi, The warranty (may) void only for the headlight unit, in case there is an issue with the heating etc. The standard products like Osram 35W etc generates lesser heat than the stock bulbs plus at lesser loads on wiring. from the last 2 years, i know at least 500+ jeepers who are using Osram / Morimoto products which are par standard and no of the jeeper has reported any trouble.

Participant@rahulb14Hey, any idea if the HID lamps in option model gives good visibility or not? Is that worth opting for?
September 21, 2020 at 4:04 am #10104abhinav
Participant@abgptYes, the Option variants HIDs are good enough, have been driving with it for last more 3 years now, didn’t face any issue.
