Intresting feature shown by one of workshop engg.

You can drive your AT JEEP (Petrol) in Manual mode, only shift your gear towards left and enjoy..

    Luv it.

Move your gear from Auto mode to manual by pushing it to your left an enjoy manual mode driving.

You have to keep moving gear like manual

If you wanted to drive in manual, should have opted for manual transmission only and would have also saved up on some money. 😉

Its called the autostick, used to override the preprogrammed gear shifting in AT mode. Comes in handy in bumper to bumper traffic and also when u want to rev up and unleash the beast… the auto mode still takes over if u push the car beyond a point in manual mode.

Its lot more fun than just having a manual transmission

What @manpreetkindra said is only partially correct. The transmission logic is programmed such that under minimal throttle input the gear would shift at around 2000rpm. This changes with respect to the throttle input given.Unlike many cars,

IF YOU SHIFT THE CAR INTO MANUAL MODE AND REV UP, THE GEAR WON’T UPSHIFT. IT HOLDS THE GEAR EVEN IF YOU REACH THE REDLINE. The auto mode will not take over.

When the speed is low, the gear downshifts automatically to prevent engine stall. but then it’s still in manual mode as the auto shifting won’t occur for upshifts.
